Demo just finished. Written tongue-in-cheek, though based on a real event, during which esotera-related names and terms were dropped at the speed of light. We each choose our own path, but it's also important to bend down occasionally and smell the roses that grow out of the soil at our feet.  ;)

Billy wanted to experiment along the lines of Gil Scott-Heron's style.

Basically jazz, so longish, and not everyone's cup of tea. But I hope some of you might enjoy it.  ;)

Blah-blah Blah-blah Blah-blah

(v1)
I came to the table in anticipation
Eager for the give and take
Of dinner conversation
A book, a film, a piece of news
But it was quickly clear
The only views to be expressed
Among the group of four
Would not be very topical
But largely philosophical
So once we'd passed the salad
A dialogue began
And though the meal was lovely
When I remember what I can
It's...

Chorus 1
Blah-blah blah-blah blah-blah blah-blah
Blah-blah ground of being

Blah-blah blah-blah blah-blah blah-blah
Knowing without seeing

Blah-blah blah-blah blah-blah blah-blah
Blah-blah Eckhart Tolle

Blah-blah blah-blah blah-blah blah-blah
Universe grown smaller

(v2)
The third guest was quiet, sat cradling her chin
I slipped her a quiet wink
She answered with a grin
Everything we'd heard before
Rushed in to fill the space
As if the door to insight
Among the group of four
Could not include things topical
But only philosophical
So once we'd passed the salad
A dialogue began
And though the meal was lovely
When I remember what I can
It's...

Chorus 2
Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
Blah blah transcendental

Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
Blah-blah elemental

Blah-blah blah-blah blah-blah blah
Transluscent revolution

Blah-blah blah-blah blah-blah blah
Spiritual evolution

Insert
Soon my eyes grew heavy as the dialogue droned
I should have been impressed
The list of words was finely honed
Retrocognition
Psychic birth
Paradigm shift
A new earth
Pain body
Cosmic Christ
Byron Katie
Geopathic
Downward pull
Harmonic convergence
Gaia's emergence

Bridge
As the chicken ratatouille
Cooled in the pot
And the chardonnay warmed
In the bottle
I looked to the open balcony in silence
Where twilight had begun to bruise
In colours of love or of violence
And the silvery leaves of a poplar
Twisted in the soft wind
That would usher in rain
And by morning the world
Would smell fresh and new again

But in the meantime it was...

Chorus 3
Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
Blah-blah transcendental

Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
Blah-blah elemental

Blah-blah blah-blah blah-blah blah
Transluscent revolution

Blah-blah blah-blah blah-blah blah
Spiritual evolution

Outro
Then I turned and smiled at the speakers
Wondering how long it would last
Till the chattering jaybird of knowledge
Would reach a dead end
After flying in narrowing circles
Up its own tiny ass
Honour the earth. Without it, we'd be nowhere.

Life is too important to take seriously.

Geir

I can have a cup of that tea !!!

Cool tune Donna !!!

Love the tempochanges and I get a kinda Zappa-feel from this. A GOOD thing in my book, as many here will know ;)

Gentlemen, thank you all so much for giving this long, strange song a listen, and for commenting.  :)
I'm pleased you enjoyed itl. ;)
It's a true story, by the way. (Though I expect you'd worked that out.  :D)
All I changed was the gender when Billy asked to have 'her' and 'she' (rather than 'him' and 'he') in verse 2.

Donna
Honour the earth. Without it, we'd be nowhere.

Like Geir, Frank Zappa came immediately to mind.  Very fine production.  Can't wait 'til the video's finished.

Enjoyed.

Guild Starfire 5, Fender Telecaster, Fender Stratocaster, K Yairi and Walden and a 12 Stagg string acoustic guitar and other music making boxes - including mandolin, bouzouki and 5 string banjo, uke and acoustic bass - a few M-Audio keyboards and a flute - all played and treated with equal love and attention - zoom ut 2 pedal and Logic Pro X

j.g.

That's a real professional production on this one. It is different, but we would get nowhere in life if no one pushed the boundries. I was never into Zappa, but through the years because of people like many on this Forum, you do begin to appreciate the quality of it. The musicians and vocalists on this have done a wonderful job.
