When Johnny Comes Marching Home ( Wha Hay)

I "kind of" enjoyed that SE.  I say "kind of" because like all good satire it's almost a bit too poignant. ;)

I managed to get a couple of hours work this morning invigilating an exam in a secondary school.  You've seen the Armstrong and Miller sketch where they tell the kids to stop talking and face the front?  That was me - only with slightly fewer cartwheels.....

I can only dream of collecting trolleys.....

I have got a southern English accent but I'm sure you realise that it's not only people North of the border who are struggling a bit.....

Still, it was nice to see that the education authorities have seen fit to refurbish the school reception area with what appeared to be nice bespoke wooden furniture.  I'm sure that will improve literacy standards.....

I'm not making political comments - I despise most politicians.  Just trying to add even more satire.

Hi everyone thanks for the comments, the song was just born out of listening to the radio while I work, for my sins I listen to Radio Five live which is a speech station which has news and sport. For the past months, they have been wheeling out politician after politician telling us that we,re in deep shit, while I have no doubt that this is the situation, it seems to me it,s the man on the street who is going to take the flak for it all.
While I do realise that things will have to change, the people in my opinion who led us into this situation seem to be immune to the fall out.

Sorry if I offend any of my fellow English musicians it really was not meant that way, it just sound that way to my tiny Scottish mind.

John - sorry mate, you didn't offend me at all and I apologise if I sounded like I was ranting at you.  I certainly wasn't and I genuinely loved the song.  I'd just got back from a pretty down-market piece of work and the truth of your lyrics struck a nerve.

You are absolutely right, the responsible parties always seem to survive whether they be bankers or politicians, and I don't think any of them have a clue how to get us out of it.

Actually my accent is more cockney than cultured, and although I was accused of being the posh kid at school this was only because I knew how to spell the swear words!

But on a lighter note I've just done a few more hours at the school so I'm about to post a Youtube link in the funnies section of the Armstrong and Miller sketch.

I should also say that my dad's family were from Glasgow so I often pretend to be a Scot when it suits me.... ;)

Like the odd occaision when England lose the Calcutta Cup.
