This is the first song I've ever finished, so it may not be very good.
                               Chorus:
Little brother, it's time for you to go on home.
Go be with Momma.
Go see God and Jesus, go on home.
You've been fightin' for so long,
But you don't have to hold on,
Anymore.
So, please, go home...

I remember when this all began,
With an ugly bruise on your left hand.
You couldn't see, you couldn't breathe.
I thought we would lose you,
I thought that you would not pull through.
But then you got better,
And things were looking really good.
You were five when you first got sick.
You are ten now,
And things aren't looking quite as good.
They said they can't help you,
And it's time for you to go home.
              Chorus:
Little brother, it's time for you to go on home.
Go be with Momma.
Go see God and Jesus, go on home.
You've been fightin' for so long,
But you don't have to hold on,
Anymore.
So, please, go home...

And when you get there let us know,
Let us know when you are home.
Send a rainbow, make it snow.
Just let us know,
You found your way home...
         (sung quieter)
Little brother,
You're my little brother.
You were here,
But now you're home......
I have nothing to declare except my genius.

Welcome to the community.

This seems pretty raw and very personal. It must have been quite a decision to post it.

Have you recorded it? If you have you should post it here.

You will find us a friendly bunch of odd balls. We're always here to help out.

Thanks for posting.
We are here on Earth to fart around. Don't let anybody tell you any different

thanks. this song kind of just came to me. I was sitting at my desk after I finished my algebra exam one day and just wondered what a good topic for a song would be. I know what it is like to lose a loved one to cancer, but not someone as close as a parent or sibling. I actually lost my greatgrandmother to cancer almost twelve years ago. But one of my friends recently lost her mother to brain cancer. We found out her mother had a brain tumor four years ago. And two of my other friends lost their mother to cancer a few years ago.

Welcome to the best web site on Earth. Lots of crazy people here. You will fit right in.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I think all of us have suffered, as you are, at one time or another.
This might be a difficult song to address, for some people. Painful memories.
