Hi,mates

There is someone able with the knowledge to make a comparison between these two digital recorders:
BOSS BR 800 vs BOSS BR 600 (advantages and desavantages)

Thanks

Geir

As far as I know we don't have any members yot that have (or have had) both.

I have the MicroBR (thanks to a VERY good friend on this site) + the BR800 !

I think the 600 is closer to the 800in most ways tho the 800 is a new generation so it's not easy to compare at all.

As far as I've picked up, the 600 is (for now at leat, until some upgrade on the 800 that may or may nt happen) more a stand-alone machine. The 800 has a lot of advantages, like better effects, touch-sensitive buttons, 32GB limitation on SD-cards (vs 1GB compac-flash on the 600) bigger and better display, better computer interface (can act as a control surface for DAWs), better? mics ......

would be great if someone did a thorough comparison tho ..

As Geir has said , dont know of anybody who has got both units , i have the br800 , i am very pleased with the onboard effects and the usability of the machine , the bass simulators are really good , the drum machine software is brill , the vocal effects have allowed me to post some tentative vocals , and the mastering facility works great , i have not used a br600 so a comparison is out of the question , you have a nice problem so to speak good luck with your,e quest an dlet us know which one you chose ??

Realistically, you're not going to get a side by side comparison from any of us, but the answer is simple. If you have the money to buy either device, the BR 800 wins without a thought. It's the newest model available with better features.

I bought a 600 before I heard that the 800 was out. At the time I actually ended up prefering the micro br to the 600. Also, here in Australia 1 gig flash cards are really difficult to get hold of which became problematic. In the end I got rid of it and now have a br800 which I think is a magnificent thing. So I guess it's a matter of what you can afford. 600's are now going cheap everywhere you look, but for me, I am relly happy with the 800 and feel that it was worth every cent.
Frustration is my middle name.
