I think the contrast between the lyrics and the happy feel to the melody works great.

Perhaps it's the simple and catchy melody that does it in addition to the guitarwork, but this reminds me of Dylan. In a very good way !!!

I think I've mentioned S&G, before when listening to your music.  This time it was as though The younger Everly Bros had returned with the harmonies - but singing a S&G song.
