importing mp3 to a micro br

Started by jase36, October 17, 2010, 01:19:06 PM

Some of the backing track mp3s I've added to my BR in the past have been a little too loud compared too my guitar. Is there anyway of reducing the level of an mp3 once its on the BR and the BR is in MP3 mode. I'm wanting to be able to use track slowing down feature so need to stick to MP3 mode.

Geir

If you wanna do this on the mbr you'de have to import it into a song (non-mp3 mode) bounce it to 2 other tracks with reduced volume and export it to mp3. An easier way is to use some tool on the computer like Audacity.

you can first try to increse the volume on your guitar by 1. seting the input level to 100% 2. tweaking the effectsetting the output level to more than 0dB

Jase, welcome aboard. Your question is just about the exactly the same as my first question on this forum, about a year and a half ago. Be careful with this site, it will suck you in and turn you into a musical monster.

Geir hit the most convenient answer by using =http://audacity.sourceforge.net/audacity. The software is fairly easy to follow, but you'll definitely have to download the Lame MP3 encoder to go with it.

The idea is to import your MP3 into audacity, go to effects, and "amplify* by - 6 db. If you amplify negative, it reduces the volume of the track quite a bit.

You can then "export" the processed file, and have yourself a nice quiet MP3. I'd personally recommend reducing the volume more than you think is necessary because you can independently control the volume of the Guitar input with the input volume control.

**** What kind of music are you into playing?

Are you playing lead or rhythm guitar?

What kind of guitar are you using?

Good luck, if you need more help, feel free to continue asking questions.

Tony would you believe I've been on this board and the previous incarnation for over 2 and half years. I've used the Micro BR more for learning than getting creative. I just don't posses that little bit of creativity. Having said that I reguarly follow these boards and find myself in awe of whats been produced on here. I have to say the Micro BR is easily my best Guitar related purchase, my most used item. I use it more than my GT10 or Blackstar HT5.

I apologize, I made the assumption based on post count!

I bought that little silver box to learn as well. I'm happy to say it was my best purchase ever.

No need for an apology, I'm whats called a lurker. I always check the board a couple of times a week and would contribute more if it wasn't for the fact nearly everything I've needed to know about the BR has already been asked and answered.
