What an amazing song! It is insteresting that I just finished reading a book about pirates (historical) and your are very close to the truth. Just men that were taken to crime under extreme circunstances, and where then considered outcasts with no chance of going back. There more bitterness and longing for home than actually "Ar! Ar! Ar! and a bottle of rhum" kind of feeling.

You should post your lyrics! I didn't understand all the words - for instance - where is lobster boy in this one?!?!

A very touching song, BB.  Literary without being showy. And of course...

Quote from: launched on October 10, 2010, 10:05:53 AMDude, that southern rock prog middle is pretty fricken' sweeeeeeeet!!!

For me, you really made the connection between the outlaw laments found in Southern Rock and the reality of pirate lives.

Nice songwriting and arrangement. The faster middle section adds a nice build-up.

More fine pirate prog rock Dave. I like the mando weaving its way through the whole song, and I love it when it opens up in the middle. Nice treatment on the vox in that part as well.

You've done this Piratefest proud, another great contribution!

Cheers,

Nigel
