Just a word to say thank you to ORH for conjuring up lyrics/vocals to a piece littered with lead guitar work, it couldn't have been easy. Top job.............Willie

Great collab guys!  Love the contrast between the backing and dirty lead - as said, Jims VOX becomes the icing on the cake!  And a very sweet cake it is!  ;D

Great groove and great collab here. Really enjoyed the way the lead fits around the lyrics, very nice job guys.

I hope I'm not out of line to bump a 2010 ( :o ) thread, but MAN!! I'm REALLY impressed with this collaboration!  I stumbled onto 'Willie Wendon' via 'The Castrati Brothers' and (as I've come to appreciate anything that orh is attatched to) I ended up here, at this song.

In all honesty; I liked the instrumental 'Alien' but when I glanced over the lyrics, I wasn't so impressed.  (I'm embarrassed to say I don't particularly appreciate 'free verse' in music.  I accept it in poetry [though I think, overused, it becomes 'prose-ish'] but for some reason my 'liking' doesn't extend itself to music lyrics.)

THEN I listened to the song.  (And actually READ the lyrics).....

WOW!!

orh captured the absolute mood of the song.  Vocally, the subdued approach he uses does it for me!  Brawtastic!  (If I may plagiarize.) ;)

As an instrumental 'Alien' stands solidly on it's own:  Great musicianship, great production.  BUT as 'is this so alien',  the Willie/orh collaboration has taken it to 'amazing' status.

But, that's just my opinion.   ::)

Hi, thank you so much for the bump. I had forgotten this but listening to it again it becomes clearer how good ORH's vocals are to dodge around the guitar work.   Willie

I'm glad it got bumped - don't know how I missed this little beauty. Really love the guitars and the funky bass, and Jim's vocals fit right in the pocket.

Well done, gents.
