Then again, you might.....

This is probably my favourite of our old Prophet songs - probably because I get to play a guitar solo (the one right at the end) as well as keyboards and even a bit of rhythm guitar.  Vocals & bass: Nick (Nightcaller) and all other guitars/drum programming Mark Drozdz.

It's a bit of a monster (nearly 7 minutes) so I had to rip it at lowest resolution to get under even Soundclick's limit of 10mb.  This hasn't helped sound quality a lot but you'll get the idea...

As always, please feel free to criticise.

You Won't Be Laughing

Why do you laugh at what might be
I know the world's just what I see
Your life's right there just next to mine
But when my eyes are closed the world is blind

But you know that it just ain't so
And nothing seems to change
Your heart is fine and like all your kind
You'll never see another year
Nothing ever changes
And your world is safe
You won't be laughing
Can't you see that you're part of me – can't you see?
You won't be laughing – at me

'cause when my life is through
It will be the worse for you
For you see I cannot die
Yet in my dreams disaster lies

But you know that it just ain't so
And nothing seems to change
You eyes are blind - despite all the signs
You never seem to have a fear
Nothing ever changes
You think your world is safe
You won't be laughing
Can't you see that your part of me – can't you see?
You won't be laughing – at me

Gritter

Heavy, tight - a progrock stunner...really well hung! Vox and music hit all the right marks - over the top...in a good way! Makes The Final Countdown sound like lounge music!

ironic - it does make me laugh!

Well, you can put me down as another one of your fans. That some pretty monster playing there by all the parts, alot of bands in the 70's had that complicated , well thought out and planned stuff going on.
Would be interesting to see if the bands today could play this music, i'm betting 99.9% can't even touch it.

Wow, a prog-rock epic! Incredibly impressive, it's got all the elements there, complex, varied and maintains the interest all the way through. It doesn't seem to last 7 minutes with all those twists and turns. Very well produced as well, great mix, very nicely balanced.

Another amazing False Prophet outing!

Cheers,

Nigel

Oh yes, a gorgeous prog-rock gem indeed! I love the genre. :)

(Any chance of seeing the lyrics?  ;) )

Honour the earth. Without it, we'd be nowhere.

Life is too important to take seriously.

Well actually I was laughing with the sheer exuburance and energy of this song. I am most definitely a False Prophet fan.............Willie

Original lyrics posted above as requested, Donna.

I don't often write lyrics (not being a singer) but for some reason I wrote these.  Nicky changed a few which is fair enough as he is the poor person that had to sing it!
