Well, Fuzz's lyrics inspired me.  There is really no verse/chorus structure to this one, it is pure poetry (all of these really), so it inspired me to go all epic Prog-rock, sections or movements instead of the more traditional verse/chorus kind of stuff.  I had to change a couple lines slightly to fit into the music, and to make it work for me.  Great words to work with here I must say.

sounds fab bb posted lyrics from the picasso thread, going in for another listen

Barcelona Beach

Far away
from my home so grey
is a land of sand and sun and play
and when I'm there I have no name
I'm a man with a heart
There's no rules / there's no game

Would you call it "zen" or simply call it "sane"
To live a blissful day free of trouble and pain?
I ask myself which is the better way
to live the life I inherited or start fresh today?

Blue sky above and white sand below
under my feet and between my toes
waves they crash
the tide comes and goes
even busy bees stop
to smell a rose

Nature or nuture? / Even plants have instinct
Yet I choose my path / I am 'cause I think
But when I open my eyes / and see the natural world
I know who I am / the knots come unfurled

There's a place inside hiding in your core
it was there long ago before there was ever a war
it's protected well, safely locked down
away from all thought / doesn't make any sound

I'm hiding here and no one can tell
I've been hiding from me / I've been hiding from hell
Cloudless Sky, Starless Night
I call out to you with all my might.

Great stuff, BB. I love the prog interludes between verses. They remind me of Mountain a bit. And the mandolin and classical guitar sounds great too. Well done!

Holy Crap!  This is SO awesome!

I never would have envisioned these sounds when I wrote the words!  That is what I LOVE about this project!

Good job, man!  Wow!  This RULES!

I can't believe it!

I gotta hear it again...

FuzzFace

Oh man!
I don't know where to begin!

Every bar of this masterpiece merits commentary and praise!

I LOVE all the changes!

This is my kinda music, man.

I gotta hear this again...

I am so very glad you like it Fuzz, I was a little nervous, it is a little out there.  Your excellent lyrics really fired me up big time.

I never thought that something I WOULD WRITE could move me to tears.

But they way you present that last verse, with the organ and choir... it's so emotive...

I LOVE this.

I want to take a trip back home just to shake your hand.

What are you doing next weekend?  Ha ha...

FuzzFace

I've been listening to this non-stop.

Had to crack open a Guinness in your honour.

What is that line you added right after "unfurled"?
