QuoteJim, I'm still hoping you've got a Billy Mackenzie sound back there someplace!
he is my hero and imho the best singer that ever walked the planet, in my youth i could do a passable version of party fears too but not now and he is from dundee and is excluded from the glasgow rule

Good to hear he's fair game, and I'd bet you could do a more than passable version of 'Party Fears Two' now!

listening again...really great tune guys! Seriously a real listening high...you nailed the sentiment to what needs to be a high point of the "story".

cheers sandy,
background info, for me guernica is picasso's best work, joi de vivre never really did it for me, well not till i read up on it , it is almost a companion peice to guernica but in reverse it gives geurnica even more power knowing the story and has helped me get to love the joi de vivre painting, basically the war is over, pablo has a new lover and children to her, he has relocated to the sunny south of france and he is on fire work wise and full of optimisim i tried to capture that in the lyric.

gawd i talk out my ass sometimes

I think this song is awesome because I can't imagine a better way to express lyrically what you see and feel in the painting.

(I'm working on a "Joie de Vivre" that reinforces our story, as opposed to directly complementing the painting, as Honker has done here so perfectly).
