Can anyone tell me , is there a problem running two recording interfaces at the same time on one laptop , idealy i would  like to have my BR-800 and my guitar rig 4 plugged into two different ( usb 2 )  sockets , but both are recording interfaces , i dont see this as a problem , but does anyone else have any input on this

Obviously you would need DAW software to do it with, but technically there is no problem.
With DAW software such as Cubase you can select the input sound source on each audio track. Most are limited to something like 16 or 32 tracks but you're likely to run into technical problems when recording multiple tracks simultaniously before reaching that. Recording multiple tracks together is no problem; the problem is mixing those inputs together fast enough that you won't hear delay in the monitored sound (the dreaded "latency" problem); that is really disastrous! Professional recording interfaces have "latency-free" drivers (ASIO drivers - those can bypass the Windows sound system, or on an Apple all drivers are fast which is why Apples are so popular with musicians). I'm sure Guitar Rig will have appropriate drivers, I'm not sure about the BR-800

If you want to record from Guitar Rig to the BR-800, just set the Guitar Rig foot controller's output to LOW and connect its L/R OUTPUT jacks to the BR-800's LINE IN using a suitable Y adapter. Set the BR-800's input source to LINE IN and turn off the COSM effects.

I find that those are pretty much impossible to get at a regular Hifi shops, but any music store will have it in stock or can order it in.

Found one , £8-99 from Maplins , 1/4in stereo jack (male) 3m long -1/4in mono (male) x2 , then connect this via 1/4 stereo to 3.5mm stereo adaptor , now to see if it works

Line In is stereo, so you should record to a pair of tracks (unless the effects you're using in Guitar Rig are mono). Other than that, it's no different than recording from the Mic input or Guitar/Bass input. So, choose any pair of tracks you like (1&2, 3&4, 5&6, or 7&8) - it makes no difference. The odd-numbered track is always the left channel and the even-numbered track is the right channel.
