Thanks 64 , a funny thing is occuring though , say i've recorded for 1 minute , when you play that back , as soon as it finishes it repeats , and repeats as though its on a loop

Sounds like you've hit the track REC button twice, putting it into Loop Record mode. In normal record mode, the REC button below the track fader will be lit steady. In Loop Record mode, it will blink. To return to normal recording, simply press the track REC button again to cycle through the modes until you're in normal recording mode (REC button lit steady).
