"Yes You Are"
John Bowen

I need to know
of your passion for me
Is it so strong
that it is overwhelming?
Do you believe
that it's possible for us to get along?

You're on my mind
My object of desire
Look to your heart
Is it probable there could be
a raging fire for me
that makes you want to fly away?

Beauty fine
Say the line
Are you mine?
Yes you are

For such a time
I could not fathom beauty
such as your's
Then all at once before me
you were all there
So wonderful and hopeful I became

Giving me
endlessly
Love to me
Yes you are

You've cast your spell
over a hapless subject
A spell of love
A will of strong desire
Now I'm too weak
So captive and so helpless
in your charms

Life is fine
Always rhymes
because you're mine
Yes you are

That chorus is pretty frickin' sweet.

Very cool arrangement...flashes of Joe Jackson, Steely Dan, Ramsey Lewis Trio and Blood Sweat and Tears.

Definitely a catchy (and complex) number - nicely done, Johnbee!

Very impressive song John, really clever and interesting structure to the song and the brass section is a very effective addition.

The drums sound really good too, they really suit the whole feel of the song

It takes some talent to put something like this together and make it sound as cohesive as you have here.

Great work John, love the instrumetation here - is that some kind of accordion sound in there? Very effective. Great composition as always, like others I am getting a Steely Dan meets Gary Wright vibe. Great vocal and keyboard performances, really nice sounds and a clever, clever song. the production is crystal clear and well-balanced - great job!

Cheers,

Nigel

Another fine piece of music John, great arrangement and production, agree with the Joe Jackson reference.........Willie

I'm impressed. Love the arrangement here with the jazz phrasing.  The piano and brass sound great.  And flutes always get me, I love 'em.

I'd have liked the double bass to be a tad ballsier, otherwise, no gripes from me.
