New original song idea (very rough demo) *UPDATED*

Thanks guys, i feel a bit under pressure now. I've never had a song be under so much demand to be completed.

I have a good portion worked on and the vocalist im working with has said he has the lyrics complete and has been discussing making a concept album with me which is an idea i have been toying about with for the last 2 years or so.

Thanks Nigel, it's interesting how you mention the production as to be honest all i have done with it is panned the guitars out, levelled the volume and added a bit of reverb to the guitars.

I have also been a fan of production that is a bit rough around the edges and a bit raw and i do try to show this with my finished products as i dont like the overly clinical compressed sound of most modern albums etc.

However this is quite a bit less than i normally do and its made me think twice as to whether i should polish the mix further upon completing the writing.

Sometiomes simple is good. I am very guilty of overdoing stuff. I think the thing here is you have excellent guitar sounds that have recorded really well and with the simple panning there is a nice spacious mix and the drums punch through nicely, good sound there. Perhaps the bass sound could be tweaked a bit, but whatever you do, don't lose the "presence" of this simple mix. Sounds great on my monitors!

Well i finally got around to writing more of this and it only took me just under a year from when i started!

Its a very rushed recording whilst the neighbours are out so the tone/playing isnt great.

It currently has a cheesy ocean effect at the beginning instead of the acoustic intro because well i dont have an acoustic so ill redo it with my friends when ive decided if this is how i want to keep the song and ive worked out some lyrics etc.
