This is something ive had the idea floating around in my head for a week or so.

Just knocked this together really quickly so the mix isnt really a mix its just a sketch more than anything to help me figure out where i should go with it next or whether i should just scrap it altogether.

Let me know what you think.

Also the longish intro is that way as i have a vocal melody/first verse in mind for that section

Nice tune well put together, like the acoustic intro, almost medieval, would love to here the vox, tight metal section too, enjoyed the listen.

Wow, love the finger picked acoustic first part, and that is some serious epic stuff when it gets heavy...superb guitar work. I am a big fan of music like this that completely changes direction part way through.

This definitely needs working on further, it is too good to remain just a sketch

Haha thanks everyone, i have mulling over ideas fo where to take this from here over the last few days and i have quite a few that could bring it close to completion so ill knuckle down tonight keep working on it and if its a substantital difference i shall post up a new version for you to listen if not ill keep at it.

I aren't quite so sure if it will be 10 minutes long yet but most of my original songs do seem to end up between 7-10 minutes anyways so there may be time for that erm cigar Ted.

Brilliant! I love your production on this, very tight and punchy with great drum sounds. This really needs to be developed further, I was loving it as it is, just needs to be a lot longer!

Cheers,

Nigel

Thanks Nigel, it's interesting how you mention the production as to be honest all i have done with it is panned the guitars out, levelled the volume and added a bit of reverb to the guitars.

I have also been a fan of production that is a bit rough around the edges and a bit raw and i do try to show this with my finished products as i dont like the overly clinical compressed sound of most modern albums etc.

However this is quite a bit less than i normally do and its made me think twice as to whether i should polish the mix further upon completing the writing.

Im also debating whether the choir aahs in the bit with the double bass should be louder or not, i put them where they are so they just add that little bit extra yet dont completely pull focus as i am hoping to be able to perform this live without people complaining that its lacking compared to the recordings.

Thanks for everyones input, i should hopefully have a more final product ready to display at least instrumentation wise sometime this weekend.

Hey Wartime - you're bringing my back to my youth!

Has a pretty strong 80's metal vibe (the good kind  ;)).
Work it out and lets hear it man!
It ain't pretty being easy.
