Hey Nelson, this is an awesome tune man!

I can/t see much of what would be wrong with it in your eyes. Sounds great, although i can understand as i beat myself on things too.

Your creativity and vocal and musical talent is beyond the universe!

Excellent work bro!

Yes, great piece any way you could play it.  The blend of styles suites it well I think - keeps you guessing and wanting more.  Great vocals, harmonies and production as well!

When you have a voice like this, a song doesn't need much more dressing up. A bass would spice up the groove a little, but I personally love the acoustic-based groove and bluesy acoustic edge on this. I'd keep it a bit sparse, because you wouldn't want to crowd that stunning vocal too much. Just my opinion. Overall though, it's f*cking awesome songwriting again. I have to say that I'm a big fan of yours. You consistently deliver songs with real depth, emotion and talent. This is already another classic, however you take it forward.

Cor, Blimey!!  Has someone wired your brain to a rocket? Amazing, wonderful, startling tune. Your vocal is, as ever, brilliant and so warm and huge. Got a touch of RHCP and a whole lotta Nelson going on. Fantastic.

Nelson, this is another great song, a very catchy chorus and great song construction, I really like all those diffferent parts you have here. It's not confused, it's actually pretty darn clever and the different parts hang together very well for me. Doesn't need a lot more to it.

A bit of bass would be great IMO (it will tie the guitrs with the drums) but don't overdo it, anything complicated will overpower the clever song construction. Remember the bass player's oath: "I solemly swear to play the root, the whole root, and nothing but the root, so help me Dusty Hill." (In case you don't know, Dusty is the bass player in ZZ Top).

Cheers,

Nigel

What to say? I'm your fan! I like your voice, and the way you make your chorus. It is a paradox- it is another register, another voice, but *still* your voice. Amazing!

Hey guys
Thanks for the kind words. Sometime I feel like I'm beating myself up but I guess I'm just pushing myself to do better work so I guess there's nothing wrong with that.

I just spent 40 minutes with a master songwriter.

Gave me goose bumps.
Plus he also has a song titled "Walk With Me" on his new album.

His totally kicks ass.

So it's back to the lab for me.

But I have something in common with Mr. Neil Young.
Hot Damn...how about that.
That's about where the commonality ends...  but I'll take that.  :D  :) :D :)

Nelson, you were so kind to send me a download link to your song "Turn Around" because I cannot listen to flash audio (at least not at reverbnation). I love that song, and I'd really love to listen to "Walk With Me" too. Would it be impudent to ask you for an alternative link again?

Soundclick would do - I can stream songs from there.

Thanks,
  Steffen
