As tough as it is and as unpopular a thing this may be to proclaim, I feel I have to say it...

I'm getting tired of The Beatles!

Not tired in the sense of being sick of their music, but tired of their talent and appeal...those smug, charming trendsetters with their tight slax, ever changing facial hair and silly accents!

Here's one of the best songs ever written...

...by Ringo Starr.

Cheers,

Sandy.

I don't know this one at all, but I love the Gritter touch on it. I'm not even going to youtube it now. This is fantastic.

Got the headphones on and fantastic is right!

Sounds downright cool with all the little things going on in there.

Never heard it either before but...

Great groove, a keeper!

Sandy, you are the master of the original cover!  This is one of my favorite songs from the White Album, and if I recall correctly, the only Beatles song that was credited entirely to Ringo.

correction: one of two songs that Ringo wrote for the Beatles. I forgot he also did 'Octopus's Garden'!

Is that a Jew's Harp I hear in there? Inspired, dude!   8)

Oh well ........

Wow, you could teach Bobby McFerrin a lesson, bro! Very smooth, nonintrusive and a delicious listen.

A friend of mine found this album in a barn when we were kids. At the time I believe the "Rocky Racoon" side was the most popular, followed by the "Helter Skelter" side. This means I've listened to "Birthday", "Blackbird", "...Monkey", "Don't Pass Me By" more than any normal human being should be allowed!

But I grew very fond of DPMB, and had no clue at the time that Ringo didn't contribute much to the group - Well done!

Oh, a little White Album trivia - Linda McCartney was the only Beatles wife that did not sing on the White Album, quite ironic considering she had many vocal duties with Paul throughout his career.

Sweeeeeeeeet tune!

Yeah Sandy, lovely.  Did you have your tight slax on for that high background harmony part?

Brilliant Sandy, I always found this song a bit odd and you've certianly added to that feeling with this really clever interpretation! Will listen to it on phones later, but for now it sounds like a great groove and lots of intriguing stuff going on there. Love it!

Cheers,

Nigel
