This is the classic "early motown" song in the moptop's repertoire-one of Barry Gordy's first hits performed by Barrett Strong on the  Tamla  (pre-motown) label

I chose this song because i wanted to play drums on my new toy
this song is a real basher-at least that's my drum style it seems. Having a blast playing lately

i used 2 new toys on this- my Roland SPD 30 as a drum set /controller for EZDrummer on this song and also my 5 string schecter i got a few months back

drums, piano, organ, vox and bass were tracked in Sonar 8.5
 i recorded the guitars
in my br 600-remixed in sonar

this song is one of most covered songs ever-the stones, led zep, the who, the doors plus many more -

ROCK 'N ROLL!!

Extremely well done from the killer drums, to spectacular guitar work, to spot on vox, all well mixed and mastered!

A great ol' rock 'n roll roots song, very well covered.

You do have some nice toys there, Ron.  Keep 'em coming.

Sounds like you really went for it on this one, Ron! All the different elements work beautifully, and I love the swirl of the organ. This is a top-notch performance and production!

i bought one of these...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A29qvzeleGY&feature=related
i had an old casio bass drum and tom pad sitting around for many years -absolutely useless until i plugged them into this thing.
on Money i didnt use the internal sounds-i used  the spd 30 as a controller in Sonar with the standard drum kit in EZ Drummer, although the internal sounds are pretty good too
i might buy a roland snare and hihat(pricey) -but this arrangement works for now
along with it i bought a hihat controller pedal and mounting hardware to mount it to a cymbal stand
i had been wanting a good e-drum set for a long time-i liked the v-drum technology by roland and this is the 1st octopad to employ this technology-i like the yamaha' drums too-btw
its got a lot internal sounds drums and basses and can loop internally-
but this seemed like a better value overall for me personally

i am having a blast farting around playing drums

i also used a 5 string Schecter bass i got for 200 bucks

organ is  a free plugin called Organized trio

recorded the guitars lead with a variax 300 on a lespaul setting in my br600
and my 50's tele, also in the BR600
