Satchwood's "Sands of Time" - remix

Greeny

Weird... you and BB have both done a 'passing of time song'. I've just done one too! Must be something in the water (or our increasing ages), lol. This has an epic feel to it. That soaring guitar is immense, but I'm bowled over by the vocal - it's an incredible performance that fits the song so well. It's like a dramatic piece of acting in the emotion and way you convey it. There are qualities in the song and vocal style that remind me a bit of Scott Walker. I think this is an amazing piece of work.

Satchwood

Thank you for the really nice comments!!   I do need to re-do this to get the timing and keyboard latency issues resolved.   The song is a bit different then my normal rock stuff, but yet very similar to my other off-the-wall stuff lol.

Greeny, i never heard of Scott Walker, so i'll be checking out his work, at least for my education.  And BB i'll be checking into Wishbone Ash as well.

Thank you all for the kind vocal remarks too;  i've been adding singing to my daily practice sessions, so that my vocal chords get a little more exercise :~)

Another great song Satch.
Heavy drama in both your vocals and in the music.
That short bursts of the guitar solo, are perfectly placed.
I love your vocals on this...it was like experiencing a rock opera or a musical.

Excellent work

Ha, at first I though the mis-tempo was intentional due to the theme of the song!  Would be an interesting conceptional piece but better I think with dead-on rhythm.  Hum... on second thought, with maybe a light sprinkle of random tablas here and there in the background for effect?  Anyway nice piece!

Tommy , maybe you could take the drums out entirely? Does it really need them?

Thanks for listening, and for the advice as well!!

I just added some more rhythm guitar parts, modified the drums completely, and remixed the song, tweaking the solo to soften it a bit.   I think it sounds a bit better.... what do ya think?

It just gets better and better Tommy with each song you produce on here, you seem to surpass yourself each time.

Loving the marriage between the keys and the guitar here, gives it all a real epic feel. That guitar that sits under the keys gives it a real menace too

Your vocal is so perfectly suited to this tune as well.

Just ace!!
