Here's a song inspired by how flippin fast the 3 day weekend has flown by... a little Satchwood lite.

"Sands of Time" – Tommy Satchwood 9/6/10, remixed and modified (9/12/10)

Where has the day gone?
Where do the days go?
They fly away
And vanish

     Time is running by
     Never to return

Time is a gift
It passes like money
Here today,
gone tomorrow...

It drifts by
Years sublime
Sands of time
Seek and find

       (guitar solo)

Can't capture time
Try and you will find
It escapes you
Motivates you, to let go...
(let go, sands of time, let go)

     Time is drifting by
Never to return (never to return)
     Time is ticking by
Never to return (never, never to return)

(Spoken):
"Sands of Time, ticking by,
Motivates you to let go."

Tommy , you have an amazing singing voice!
Also dig your solo - as usual!

This is a great song, I really think it's a strong one, has a mood to it.An enjoyable listen, for sure.

The drum timing confused me a bit though. Off a bit, or maybe it's me?

Thanks Ken, i do think that you are correct about the mis-timing on the drums ~ i'll def need to fix that....

Nice idea - I rate your vox and the splash of guitar in the middle seemed unapropriately appropriate.  The drums do sound occasionally as though the drummer was following a different path, but then finds his way again, but I have a drummer like that so I get quite fond of that kind of idiosyncrasity.

I like.

I love how you did the vocals on this, Tommy. And the piano/guitar marriage is beautiful!

Thats funny Tommy, we both post songs within a day of each other about the passing of time.  Your vocal sounds really good here, prog-rock voice, like Wishbone Ash or something.  This is quite prog of you, I like it a lot.

Nice vocals here and the guitar playing is, of course, otherworldly.

Great vibe on this one.
