I've been dabbling with this for some days. Yesterday I scratched it all and started over, using a midifile as the basis for the drums. Had to do a bit of editing in Sonar and in BR800 rhythm editor to get what I wanted. Made a guitarpatch using the "slow-gear" modulation effect for the swelling guitar in the right channel. Guitars and vocals more or less first take (with some punch-ins) as I had played through it all some times already. Was too lazy to get my bass and listen again to how macca plays it so I did my best faking it using the guitar through the "tight bass" guitar-to-bass effect.

Listening in my car on way to work today the bass is probably a bit to prominent in the mix, but some may like that ;D

Leave the bass as it is Geir, I like it punchy like that.  Fantastic job.  Sounds like this one stretched your vocal chords a bit.  You do a great job on the vocals but that chorus is a bit out of your comfort zone isn't it.  One thing I have learned from this fest  is the sheer vocal range of those guys, there is a lot of high singing that they pull off so wonderfully,  I never realized how high some of those vocals are.

Whoa!!  :) :o :) Great cover of this song, Geir!

I love the guitar swells (this song and 'I Need You' from Help are the only two Beatles tracks I can think of that feature George working the volume pedal), the egg shaker sounds excellent, the bass sim sounds great & punchy, and of course your vocals are outstanding.

I especially like the way you did the bridge - it rocks! I know this isn't an easy song to do because there are so many parts to it. I also think that it's a highly underrated Beatles track - not many know this one! One of my faves.  :)

And that leaves just two songs left to wrap up Rubber Soul, I think...  :)

Love this Beatlesfest!

Bass too prominent? How can that happen? I would turn it up even more, it doesn't appear overpowering on the quality monitors I am now listening through!

I enjoyed this Geir, you did a great job on the harmonies. It does push you a bit but I think you carried it off well. Nice use of those BR 800 effects!

You dirty bird, you.

Geir, an excellent post. I think the bass sits nicely in the mix.

Geir, you are the long lost Beatle, aren't you?
Your musicianship is incredible, but the thing that really
wraps it all up, is your production skills!

Top notch Geir.

I'm amazed at how many Beatles songs you have covered, and with quality work too, which really shows the scope of your talents.

Very fine bro!
