Hey guys

I'm still trying to get this album of new songs together but I'm constantly drawn back to my older songs.
Some of you may remember this one from a past post... It started out with a bunch of strings and things.
Well, I've taken minimalism to the max. It's cut down to just a simple melody with a bit of piano.

I re recorded the Vocals and the harmonies and if I can get together I might add it to the new album.

As usual, all suggestion are welcomed.

Nelson

The story's about a small town kid ,who couldn't wait to leave home for the big city but then got caught up in the big city life. http://www.reverbnation.com/misternelson
Ladida
by Nelson

(Verse 1)
How long has it been, since you've known the convert, of a friend?
Your pain can't be denied,oh, it shows, shows in your eyes.
And jealousy is all around. For it lives to tare you down.
It feeds on your good well and it thrives, but all it feeds you are lies.
Another, night out on the town.If your friends could see you now.

(Pre-Chorus)
You couldn't wait, to be on your own, AH but now you can't find your way home.
You say you wanna leave all this behind, cause the grass isn't greener all the time
.
(Chorus)
Ladida Ladida
Ladida Ladida
Ladida Ladida
Ladida Ladida

(Verse 2)
A lonely soul.(So lonely lonely lonley)On a lonely road (Um Humm)
Well you ever get home? (searching for the answer) AH, Heaven only knows.
You're screaming out loud (Help me find my way) but no one hears the sound.
Strange....how life... turns around,
A moment, in the clouds ... then you're down.

(Pre-Chorus)
You couldn't wait, to be on your own, AH but now you can't find your way home.
You say you wanna leave all this behind, cause the grass isn't greener all the time

(Chorus)
Ladida Ladida
Ladida Ladida

OsCKilO

I cant listen yet as i'm browsing from the phone.↲

but from what you say in the description, the minimal is what this tune needed.

Your voice and playing is so good, anything else just got in the way.
especially synth strings.

looking forward to listening.

Wanted to hear this but ReverbNation doesn't work for me on my work PC which uses on old browser. Any chance you could post a Soundclick link or the song itself? I loved the original.

Cheers,

Nigel

PS that's why I haven't commented on some of your other stuff.....

Nigel: I've added the ReverbNation player to Nelson's post. Does that work for you?

I love the homestyle feel this has. The vocal harmonies are very natural sounding - Very good.

I'm into it!

Tangled Wires

Top notch as per usual Nelson, really liked the simple approach here. The keyboard parts blend so well (as they do on all of your songs), and some great harmonies that are panned to perfection!!

Always a pleasure to hear your songs, pure quality each time.

This is a great piece of music man. awesome.

Vanncad

That's a pretty sweet tune Nelson. You'v always got such a "down home" feeling to your songs.

Your harmonies, and those backing vocals are great, and you sing with a lot of emotion in your voice.
It sounds like you are feeling every word as you sing it.

That's a gift man.

I think it's great "as-is". I wouldn't touch it (but hey - that's just me)
Great tune Mr. Nelson.
It ain't pretty being easy.

Greeny

You carry and convey a lot of emotion in your songs. I'd call it soul, and it's a very good thing. It makes them feel so 'real'... no artifice or grandstanding. There's a classic vibe to this. Kind of reminds me of the Rolling Stones a little (Wild Horses era), with a bit of Bill Withers. And it's a grower - it dragged me in more and more as the song went on. Beautiful stuff. You're a major talent - keep them coming!
