The Songwriting Scene blog posted a challenge for August and I had this chord progression just sitting there so I did this quick song. I actually did meet my wife at Taco Bell.

I only wanted
A quick bite to eat
When I went into the Taco Bell
I guess you never know
Just who you will meet
It's true you never can tell

I wanted a burrito
Maybe two or three
But I got a wife instead
Give me some of that hot sauce
And a french kiss on the side
Hot sauce does strange things to your head (badly sung)

Dog days of August
Are the best time of year
Dog days won't let me forget
Dog days of August
Bring up those memories
Of the time that we first met

Fifteen years later
I still think about
All the times that we have shared
Through the good times and the bad
We always talk it out
It shows how much we both cared

Have I heard parts of this song before from you TC?

I recognise the 15 years and Taco bell references....

Then it seems fresh at the same time.

35 songs in a year so far!! Well done!!!!

I like this one a lot! Good vibes!

It's the second time I've included a reference to taco bell and my wife. I'm not sure which other song I did it in, but it is a repeat. I figured I'd start using the reference and have a taco bell themed album ready by the end of the year.  ;D
Okay, I jest, but still.
Thanks for the listesn.

A man, his guitar, and a song about his wife and a burrito - what else could you ask for?

Seriously though - 35 songs is a pretty impressive feat man.
I enjoy listening to your posts as well T.C.
It ain't pretty being easy.

I missed this when it first came out - I was having a PIggie withdrawal and couldn't understand why!

Another fine one for the list!

Are taking a vacation when you chalk up the 52'nd?  Hope not, as cold turkey is pretty rough I hear.  Not the bird - the withdrawal symptoms.

Nice offering.

Leigh,
The idea is that next year I'll do a song a week, but I'll record 52 of the 300+ songs I've written (and still retain some form of.)  So some of the pitchy vocals and off time guitar playing and whatnot might be less noticeable. Of course I can't stop writing, but I imagine it'll be a lot less than the last couple of years.
thanks for the interest,
T.C.
