Going to return it to the store

Hi guys, unfortunately as a guitar trainer the MicroBR just isn't quite there yet.  Has a lot of great features but just is missing some of the basic things the TASCAM unit has:

1)  no way to organize the MP3 music in folders or playlists.

2)  no way to view the entire filename of an MP3? 6 letters is too little.

3) temporarily turn on and off the A<>B looping, without it loosing the setting?

4) No way to review the song while using FF and REW?

5) The volume of an MP3 is just too loud for my old strat - even with the external control hiked up and input sensitivity up +8db

I really like the drums for backing tracks.  I also like the large memory capacity - but other than that it needs some basic improvements as a guitar trainer.

You're quite right.

However it's not a guitar trainer as such. I have replaced a Tascam Portastudio with it. This is where it wins.

I haven't regretted buying mine for a minute.

I didn't think the BR was even marketed as a guitar trainer. I've seen a new Tascam one (DR-1) which looks the business though, with some nice in-built mics and an ability to reduce tempo on any piece of music so that you can nail a difficult guitar part at an easier speed. It's got some good reviews from what I've seen.

Think twice about returning it. As LesPaulGold said it is not a guitar trainer - have a tascam Gt-Cdmkii ( they don`t even list them on their web page any more and I bought it 2 years ago LOL)
The Micro is a very neat tool (toy) to have So..... if $$ are not the issue hang on to it and buy the tascam GT-MP3 unit.
Not sure how long you`ve been playing guitar but if not long as you progress you will wish you had not returned the BR.
I take mine to the park when runing the dawgs and record what i`m doodling with and then play it back at home to see if I can use or improve what I was doodling with.

I dont blame ya man; especially if its not the kind of gear you are looking for... But you may just regret it down the line. Seriously, theres no better tool for song composition and improvisation. Play a riff you like and reocord it, loop it, get lost for a few hours in the blissful loop while you shred a searing lead jam session over it. And you can have drums playing along to boot!

I say keep it and save up for a better trainer. Or just form a band. NOthing makes you play better than playing with other musicians!
