Hi,
I want to purchase a 1 gigabyte compact flash card for my br900 but I find them listed as 60x, 80x, 150x etc. Which one is compatible with the br900.
Thanks..

That's debatable. Roland U.S. claims that you should only use CompactFlash cards that are 45X or slower. That's a problem because they're practically non-existent now.

But it seems to me that the write speed is determined by the BR, not by the card. So I would think that you should use cards with a write speed equal to or greater than the BR's maximum write speed. I don't know what that maximum write speed is but I've been using 60X CompactFlash cards for several years without any problems. I have a SanDisk Ultra II (part # SDCFH-1024-901) and a Kingmax KCF-001G. I don't think the Kingmax is available anymore but you should be able to find the SanDisk Ultra II. I also have a 256MB SanDisk blue & red label (standard) CompactFlash card which works well, so I imagine the standard 1GB card would also work well.

The Roland.com website has a list of tested cards for the BR-600/864/900 which includes the Ultra II (901) I mentioned. I'd go by the part numbers on that list rather than Roland US's speed-based recommendation.

I use the Sandisk Ultra II with good results in my MBR but a warning for any of these cards, I found out the hard way that if you start getting corruption, DO NOT try to fix it with "chkdisk" in your computer.  Wipes everything, even MP3s!
