Very nice first attempts at songwriting.  You have the right idea too.  Just have fun with it.
Also, I'd encourage you to sing out a bit more.  You're words are kind of hard to understand here because sometimes your voice gets lost behind the guitar.  Don't be shy.  Your singing voice is fine.

rich, this is deadly.  You have a style that I like very much.  You are a natural.  Keep going, keep posting, mix it up, have fun, sing it.  Your voice is very good, I agree with Saij, try to push it a bit more, you will be surprised in how good it will become.  You are the total package in my opinion and will get stronger with each song.  You are one to watch on this site for sure.  I look forward to your next song.

I agree that you should put the vocals up more. You are probably singing and playing into one mic so it's a tough adjustment, but doable.
