I haven't been here for a while and when i saw some of the Beatles stuff i almost didn't post this. There's some great stuff being posted. I gotta get on here more often. (and not while i'm at work...)

Anyway, here's a few clips of the girls and how they are coming along for those that are interested. as usual the sound was all done with the MBR just sat on a table in the club with an external mic. It's a bit noisy and raw but it's better than the sound from a digicam mic.

Little Maddie got up to sing at the club (she's still not quite confident enough to play and sing in front of an audience yet, although she is capable, as she showed when the two of them busked together on the driveway for our garage sale the other week. They made $30 in less than an hour.. :D)
They did quite well with the Taylor Swift song together.
Kayla did a great solo rendition of Lisa Loeb's "Stay" and she did an acoustic version of "Black Magic Woman" which was really well done seeing as she has only ever played it on the electric before. She had to change things "on the fly" a little as she can't quite bend the strings of an acoustic the way she can on an electric. Most of the little licks are improvised.

They are now all of 7 and 9 years old........

Really great to hear from the girls again !!

And WOW !! They are fantastic !! Kayla is really becoming a pro performer, so secure and confident in both playing and singing and Maddie sure is following in her sisters footstep and give a great performence.

Thanx for posting .... always a pleasure to listen to you and your girls!!

Wow, they both are so talented, so young, but yet so good!
You must be so proud of them!
I enjoyed listening to this so much, as I always do enjoy
listening to them.
I was also surprised at the nice little lead solo the elder girl
played! Wow!
If they are this good now....Who knows where this will go....
Please don't be such a stranger here with your posts.

Thanks Ig. I would post more often if i taped more often :D
On the Friday just gone we wished that we had the MBR and camera with us as she got invited on stage by another muso at the club i run and she just hit it. All on a guitar she'd never played before and with someone she'd never played with before. She just blew away the crowd.

It's nice that you noticed the little lead break. Nearly all of her lead breaks are improvised. We work out any intro riffs that are the signature sound of a song and then she either has to work out her own solo or make it up as she goes. She'd rather play and learn new songs (or is a bit lazy like her dad) so she generally just improvises her solos on-the-fly. I'm happy with it as she is learning to hear what works and what doesn't. She already knows her scales better than i do.

Sorry if i ramble a bit............ proud dad and all that sh*t.
Just a roadie again.....
