I wasn't planning on recording any songs yesterday, but got a few hours and this one suddenly called for my attention.

Guitar and main vox recorded "live" as a basic track and then it just took off from there .... 1am I had added a couple of more vox, one more acousic guitar, a piano, bass, electric guitar and mbr drums. I suddenly realised I had no idea how to play that weird instrument the occurs through the song ..... (just ggogled it, it's a "Clavioline") .... I experimented a bit on my old Roland D10 synth, tweaked a cello-patch and ... well you can hear the result .....

The vocals are fucking incredible here Geir. Great song! I love the synth experiment. I think you could make music out of disturbing bodily noises. Oustanding cover.

I did mention that I love the vox right?

Loved all the guitars in this, and how you mimicked the clavioline with the D-10, and of course, your vocals are stellar - very well done, Geir!

::)  And here I was thinking this might be my next one (right after the work-in-progress)...  ;) :D

Wow!  Geir walking in the snow and stepping in the footprints of the masters.  Love the attention to detail that you have put in here, in everything... the instruments, vocals, sweetening and production.   Never knew you could sing in this register before BeatlesFest.  I hope when you put out your first CD album, if there are 12 songs that 3-4 of them will be in that special 'Geir the Viking' deep voice but let the rest be like this!  Ie: I think several of your BeatlesFest songs have been your best vocals ever.  It's a great distinctive sound and cuts through the mix well.
Fantastic job on this one!

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

Such a tricky one to pull off, but the Geir-man comes up trumps again. In fact, it's one of my favourite BeatleFest offerings to date. And that 'tweaked cello patch' is a masterstroke. Amazing stuff!
