I always wanted to sing the words to the first of this song.... never figured it out but you've got it great.  What Lennon immagery and what a fine job you've done pulling it off, with all the chord changes.  Love the harmonies on the choruses too!  First falsetto I've heard you do, I think...?  BeatlesFest is taking you to new heights. Fantastic!!!

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

New heights of high levels, that is for sure.  Magnificent, lurching, sweet, lovingly sung, love the ending sing-a-long.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

Class! :)

This is one of my favourite John Lennon songs.

Love the percussion :D - I've been fighting with "how do I make drum noises without a drum machine" as well (with less reason - my BR1600 will do crazy time signatures, and it will do tempo maps... but for some reason drum-programming is really putting me off making music at all at the moment...)

Anyway, I found the same as you - much to my utter horror - it's really difficult, I just can't hit things in time!!!! AGGH! How do these drummers do it? It looks so easy... I have much admiration for them now (and for you - from my experience, I reckon this is a very good drumming effort from a guitarist... :D)

Percussion aside - the vocals, feel, etc... superb job.  ;D

Ha, sounds like you had a lot of fun with your makeshift drum kit! I thought it sounded excellent!!

Another great tune that I missed, but I'm slowly getting to them!
