Here's my latest attempt at song writing.  After hearing some of the pros submissions tonight, I keep seeing how far I still have to go.  Tear me a new one guys, I can take it!   :D

Still can't sing but trying again, see what you think.  This one is a little different:

My Little Girl
--------------------------------------------
Hey little girl,
   what you doin'
   where you goin' tonight?

Hey little girl,
   I just want to know
   that you'll be alright

Hey little girl,
   who you seein'
   now believin' their right?

Hey little girl,
Isn't it time to get back in the light.
----------------------------------------------
Hey little girl, don't you care about yourself
you can't keep on living your life in fear

Hey little girl, you really don't know what is right
you just can't get there from here
----------------------------------------------
Hey little girl,
   quit your cryin'
   stop your lyin' to me

Hey little girl,
This is no way to live
   I think you see

Hey little girl,
   stop denyin'
   that what sets you free

Hey little girl,
There is no one that loves you now but me

Love the guitar sound here really smooth sounds. The vox are killer too, only thing I might change is the drum kit, maybe try the Jazz kit, apart from that this is an excellent tune , well played.

Wicked tune.

I always love your rhythms Hardlock. They are very upbeat and footstomping.
Your jazzy leads are very tasteful and your vox are perfect.

This song is amazing all around.

This is terrific! I'm listening to it with headphones on, and it is so nice and full sounding.
The vocals are perfect, really they are just excellent.
The guitar solo has major soul.. You aren't just playing notes that fit, they mean someting to the song and ... well it's really well put together.
Very, VERY nice work.

Thanks so much everyone.  Your kind words really keep me motivated.  Not in any way tooting my own horn but I must admit that even after dozens of edits on this piece, I haven't burned out on it.  As we all know that's a good thing considering how many times I(we?) need to hear our songs over and over to get them acceptable, having one grow on you is a nice surprise. ;D

Oh, I never gave the motivation for the lyrics.  I have a friend that had lots of problems with his teenage daughter a few years ago.  I then heard of a missing teen on the news and remembered what he went through.  I don't have a daughter myself (3 sons -> 12 grandkids...) but can relate to the grief one could bring a parent.

After writing it I realized that just from the tag line of "Hey Little Girl" could also sound like a dirty-old-man so changed the title to be more expanatory.......  :-[
