This is one I've loved to play for a while now. I took my electric over to the new place (we are currently moving house). I couldn't get a signal to the MBR - bad guitar cable, so I decided to play the guitar acoustically in the empty kitchen.

This is two seperate live takes of guitar a vocals. The second take was done on it's own without hearing the playback of the first. I panned them left and right.

*When I finished the first take I looked down and my MBR said Card Error. It glitched in the middle of the song and took it out of step. I had to "patch up" the glitch with a copied chunk from take 2...it's noticeable but doesn't sound bad...The kitchen has more stuff in it now so I think I was lucky to get the nice natural reverb when I had the chance.

Cheers,

Sandy.

Unusually cool take Gritter!!  i like that natural reverb, especially on your vocals ~  I really dig you recording acoustically on an electric guitar ~ pretty cooL !

Had I not known the story behind this, I'd have thought it was a cool cover. Knowing the story it makes it even better. I don't play much electric guitar without being plugged in to something, but those late evening practice sets in the living room do happen. They just don't sound this damn good.

Sweet take, I really like the unplugged aspect of it.

Sensational song here, especially hearing how this was done.  Everything you describe in the recording process sounds just all wrong, a mere mortal would have chucked the whole thing in the crapper, but yet you come out the other end with this absolute Gem of a cover.  It is further proof that you could take practically any shite noise-maker or junk instrument and make it sound like gold, gold I say.  I feel positively inspired and elated hearing this cover.  Time to go drink some beer I think and start banging on an unplugged electric in the garage and see what I get for my trouble.  Great sound here.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

Hey, nice one Sandy! One of my favorite early Pixies songs...

I have to confess, I did not hear the glitch - it all sounded good here. You rock, dude.  8)
