Miss you guys and this site quite a bit. Computer is still on the fritz for the most part. Fought with company on phone for multiple hours, got a return authorization, and now I can't get the thing to crash (doh!). Anyway, I'm sort of fed up with MoO, so I impulsively purchased a Talkamine acoustic/electric with the thought that I might start playing out some.

Invited John over today (singer from MoO), and we attempted a half dozen or so tunes.  First time recording on an acoustic electric, so forgive my thumping at times.  Swirly sounds are courtesy of a loop pedal on its backward setting and an arpeggiated chord on the acoustic.  This obviously was lacking in forethought, but upon listening back, it kind of freaked me out in spots.  Thought it was worth a post. Takes a minute for the vocals. I think John was looking for a place to jump in.

Here's our "Norwegian Wood" while I'm at it. Forgot to trim it, so sorry about the extra noodling.

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

That "Tomorrow Never Knows" has real soul, great playing.  Your acoustic sounds very good Blooby.  You play that like an old pro.  Between you on acoustic and the fantastic vocals of John, you have a real winning combination here.  This would go down very good live, I would go to see this live for sure.  When you guys coming up to the East Coast of Canada on your tour?  He is a very good singer isn't he.  I'll give first one a listen a bit later, duties call me away.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

That is some wicked intricate picking there, Blooby - very nicely done! The guitar on 'Tomorrow Never Knows' reminded me a bit of the beginning of 'The End'; a nice languid Eastern feel.

What a take on TNK, that acoustic sound is just to die for and the vox by John are just too cool, can hear some Jack Bruce in there too, enjoyed this too much, well played.
