How to: Track level between recordings?

Hi!
Can I regulate the level of the tracks before "final editing" the song?

I mean, I record the first 2 or 3 tracks, but as their sound level is the same (while recording) sometimes I find it difficult to tell them apart from what I'm playing at the moment.
Even more if theres some ammount of overdrive (or else) on the effects.
Can I lower the sound level of the other tracks either for practicing or even recording an extra track to clearly ear what I'm playing?

Thanks
Axt

Axt,
Page 32 of the manual shows how to adjust the recorded track levels

The PDF can be found here

I must have read the "contents" pages 15 times or so and just didnt find that "Adjust the volume of a track" line.
By the way its page 33.
Thanks a lot!

In normal, playback mode (i.e. from the main screen), just press 'Track 2'. If you scroll right using the ' > ' button, it takes you through the Volume level for each track, then Panning, then Reverb. You can then adjust any of these using the '+' or ' - ' buttons.

I have the same problem you mentioned sometimes, and often completely mute / silence a particular track that I've recorded to enable me to hear what I'm playing.

The above method also works in mastering mode, where you can adjust track volume and panning etc in real time.

Also, if you press 'utility', you can see and change the master volume level. I often use this to fade tracks out during mastering mode.

This is just my own experience rather than a detailed user manual explanation, but I hope it helps!

Dont forget about adjusting the low/mid/high EQ (mix) settings while mastering. You'll want to tweak the compression and input gain settings too. My advice is to record everything dry and add effects afterward so you can experiment without re-recording...
