I've had doubts about this simple improvisation since I did it.  It's not original and it's not a copy, so I wasn't sure where, or even whether to post at all.  It's a simple two track effort and it and the title came about from a whole lot of time wasted in trying to get a complicated fingerstyle version of "Aint no Sunshine" worked up.

After failing miserably to achieve on the acoustic what I wanted, I picked up my trusty Guild and a plectrum, laid down an improvised rythym track followed by an impromptu solo - all completed in single takes and in about ten minutes.

Hence the title and the similarities.  It's been sitting around for while - but I played it again and thought it was worth an airing.  Hope you don't mind!
Guild Starfire 5, Fender Telecaster, Fender Stratocaster, K Yairi and Walden and a 12 Stagg string acoustic guitar and other music making boxes - including mandolin, bouzouki and 5 string banjo, uke and acoustic bass - a few M-Audio keyboards and a flute - all played and treated with equal love and attention - zoom ut 2 pedal and Logic Pro X

Simplicity really works when the guitar tone and playing are this good. I agree with henny... there's a tinge of wild west twang about this. And a touch of Hank Marvin too. I think the whole thing is very inspired. Damn fine work.

i absolutely love improvisation. it's the whole foundation of Jazz in my opinion. and it's the one of the reasons i refuse to take music lessons. i prefer to be an autodidact for fear of losing any creativity i may have, no matter how bizzare it may be, to structure.

i'm happy that you decided to post this as i find this piece very creative and engaging.

I like the lo-fi spaghetti western feel to this one - I didn't pick up the "Ain't No Sunshine" connection until quite a way through - if you leave that little bit of melody out you've got your very own tune, and a nice one it is too...

There are only 12 notes, how hard can it be?....

Funny how this wasn't your first choice but man does it have a haunting quality.

Yes. it may have been niece with the finger picking but this has a great feel to it.

Sound like music you would have heard in one of those old 60's and 70's movies, like Bond or In Like Flint.

Just a really cool take on a real cool song.

I get that haunting, Western feel as well. Cool piece, sometimes you just have to let the inspiration flow. And I just heard the "ain;t no sunshine lick" which made me smile!

This sounds really great although I don't think the title matches the sound as doesn't sound frustrating at all.

Very smooth and ambiant.  Almost paints a picture or tells a story.  It gets the imagination going.
