Well, this was a lot of fun!   I really need to practice singing this another thousand or so times to get it closer, but hey, we're talkin about the Beatles here, so here ya go (forgive my vocal arrangement):

Day Tripper
Written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney
Performed by Tommy Satchwood
Recorded with: Riffworks & MBR, added fade-out with Audacity
All guitar parts & bass done with my Les Paul Deluxe

Good stuff, Tommy. Chaotic, yes, but I think it works really well. Great guitar sounds and what are those drums? they sound awesome, well programmed or however you did 'em!!

Nice one Tommy! This is really off the wall... kind of edging into psychedelic Beefheart territory. I like the heavy-duty guitars especially. And brilliant soloing at the end - reminds me of the kick-ass Hendrix cover of this song that he did for a BBC radio session once. FAB.

Cool satched up version Tommy !!

Great guitarwork as usual and yeah ..... I get that psychedelic Hendrix vibe too  ...

more please !!

Oh that solo work at the end is a straight up Tommy stamp. I dig this version, and the vocals are contagious to me. I can tell you've been putting in a lot of hours on the vox.

Hey thank you for the kind comments!   Those vocals were the biggest challenge; i may need to mess some more with the mix, cuz i turned the mids up while mastering, but i think it brought out my alto part a little too much... lol

The drums were by DiscreteDrums, which is a purchased add-on for Riffworks.  One of the main reason i started checking into Riffworks was because of the drums.  There's a whole slew of drum styles (from supposedly 'real' recorded drummers) that you can purchase once you get Riffworks.  I'm not that thrilled with the guitar amp fx for soloing, so i often use this software with my MBR ~ but not on this one, i just used the MBR for vocals...

* I also put aside my "black beauty" Kramer and played my "trusty" Les Paul Deluxe.

Awesome, Tommy! Your guitar playing and tone are great as ever, and I really enjoyed your vocals.

Those drums sounded great. Are they patterns you put together, like in the Micro BR?

Thank you friends!!  This is the very first time I've ever recorded a Beatles cover ~ great fun, but more challenging then I thought with the singing.

The Riffworks Instantdrummers are so easy to use: you select a session (or purchase a genre that you like for 10 bucks a piece) and then you have a bunch of sub selections (verse, chorus, intro, bridge, etc.) and then you can adjust tempo, intensity, gain, variation, ambience (using simple software nobs) for each section (group of measures) of the song, called 'Riffs'.   This is definitely Drums-for-Dummies ~ i luv it!  You also have to buy a Stealthplug or some other apparatus to be able to record on your PC.
