Just a bit of fun. I fancied something a bit different to add an unexpected twist to the album I'm working on, hence a song totally written and largely performed on mandolin. There's harmonica and bass too, but no guitars. Kind of summery I suppose.

This one is certainly influenced by listening to henwrench's 'Wrong Songs' album. I can't tell if it's very obvious though (I'm too close to this song to tell now).

All the music is done on the MBR, with a few fx odds and sods added in Audacity.

The chorus is:

"I'm just a partime loser with a lowercase 'l' "

The rest is easy to make out.

Oh yeah... the sound clips are from 'Live and Let Die' on the intro, and 'Yellow Submarine'. Sounds like Ringo, but it isn't - just an actor impersonating him.

great fun, fab stuff.  There is something about the mandolin sound that just makes you smile isn't there.

Great song, fantastic lyrics. A real departure for you but I think you've pulled it off brilliantly. Got a lazy Beck feel, which is certainly something I aspire to. Love the kids 'yeah' part, very good...

I love the voodo man from Live and Let die at the start. Great use of samples throughout, they all fit perfectly.

Very different from your usual style, but up to the very high standard as ever.

Madolin and bass sound spot on.
