Quote from: Bluesberry on July 29, 2010, 06:09:31 AMThats the thing with the Beatles songs, we have all heard them all our lives, they seem so simple but just try to cover one.
Ditto that too!

Quote from: Greeny on July 29, 2010, 07:13:56 AMI agree that John is hard to sing, but strangely, I struggle more with the Macca songs
Me too, it doesn't sound like he's that high in the register, but he IS !!! A remarkable voice.

QuoteThere's no 'easy' Beatles song, so hats off to everyone for doing a whole bunch of remarkable covers and original interpretations! ......... You did a mighty fine job with this.
Yes indeed, hat's off to BB for making a truely original and personal version of a song that's not easy at all to cover!

Quote from: Greeny on July 29, 2010, 07:33:58 AMI've always read that Macca hated Ringo's drumming on this one, so he went back to the studio one night and re-did them himself. Poor old Ringo, lol.
Quote from: Wikipedia"The Beatles" sessions allowed the four members to work on separate projects at the same time and, as a result, kept tensions to a minimum. However, tempers flared during the recording session on 22 August 1968, and Ringo Starr walked out and announced that he had quit.[6]

"Back in the U.S.S.R." and "Dear Prudence", the first two tracks of the album, were recorded without Starr, with McCartney primarily responsible for the drum parts. McCartney's drums are most prominent in the mix, but both John Lennon and George Harrison recorded drum tracks for the song; these are audible in the left channel of the stereo mix.
