I don't know whether the baseball analogy works for you, but man, you really knocked the cover off that one.

What I mean is you have created a most original cover.  The sound fx, slower and wonderfully played guitars, smoothe beautiful vocals, and a twist on the melody, all work so well together to establish a new, heartfelt, truely new version.  You are quite the artist my friend.
