Now I know we all like to be nice and friendly on SongCrafters, and that is 'A Good Thing'. The action of being encouraging to each other is, obviously, the way to be, and keeps many of us here going. Keeps me going anyway. But this thing?? No words of niceness, encouragement or whatever can disguise the fact that this is incredible. I mean it. Incredible. THE best cover I've heard in a long time. As a few people here know, this deserves to be heard. Get it off somewhere, Greeny. Soon. Now.

Flipping hell. I wasn't expecting that!

The weird thing is that my girlfriend (my most honest critic and usually right...) has been telling me the same thing, but I'm only just starting to warm up to the possibility that this song has anything special about it. It just happened at about 2am one morning when I was playing very, very quietly on my acoustic in my flat. I was pretty excited when I worked out the arrangement, but that initial excitement soon fell away when I tried to record it. It was very hard to do. So hard that I kind of lost my ability to hear it properly. I reckon I'll start to like it in a month or so, lol. It's funny how you can't hear your own work properly sometimes. When I listen back to this one I just hear the things I would change. I'm very happy to take your word for it though!

I agree, this is especially special.  :)

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

What an awesome interpretation of a great song.
I love hearing a classic like this through the ears of another genius.
