The lyrics were written by Nathan Clifford, who I met on the FAWN 50/90 site. I wrote and played the music. My piano playing is very tenative because I am still learning. Any comments good or bad are always welcome. Thanks for listening.

Little Boy - Music by Dave Bride & lyrics by Nathan Clifford

Little boy staring through the window
Wishing for dreams made in denial
He wonders why he does not feel her
He holds him self for a while

This is the girl he was dreaming of
Waiting for that final love
So why's he alone?
Why can't he look her in the eye and say, "You are mine."
Why is he gone?

Lonely man stands beside his brother
Looking at the woman down the aisle
He wonders why he does not see her
Walking through mile after mile

This is the girl he was dreaming of
Waiting for that final love
So why's he alone?
Why can't he look her in the eye and say, "You are mine."
Why is he gone?

Is this the girl he was dreaming of?
Waiting for the final love
Why is he alone?
Look me in the eye and say, "I know."
This is wrong.

"Rock is dead they say, Long Live Rock, be it dead or alive"    P. Townsend

The piano work was actually pretty good. The lyrics didn't really flow well until the percussion and guitar kicked in. If I were to take a guess, I'd say that you were uncomfortable on the piano, and it caused the lyrics not to flow well. When the percussion and the guitar kicked in, you were right back in your wheel house and delivered strong until the finish.

Keep polishing the ivory, you've got a knack for it. I really enjoyed the piano work.

Thanks Tony,
This was a first time try for me using someone else's lyrics.
When I write songs I usually start with a lyric idea and maybe a few lines
and I compose the main parts of the music then write the lyrics to fit the music.
When writing this song the lyrics were complete and I really like them but
it was a different experience for me and I am not real happy with how the song came out but I think I am going to rework it. It was a good excersise writing this way though.
Thanks for your input Tony, I really appreciate it.

I'm digging this, as with all the songs you've posted.  I like the way you pace singing your lyrics -- you've got a unique style that makes all your songs recognizable.  Love the delayed rhythm kick in, and the backing vocals.

I think this has a good vibe to it  , the keys are great , just need a bit more fluidity to them , but overall , as tony sez , once the percussion and guitar start , you develop a nice groove , my only thought would be shifting the main vox slightly more to the middle , it seemed to far right on my monitors , but other than that , excellent song

I like the Feel of this.

The Vox on the Piano part gives a great vibe of trying to overcome a struggle......

The Guitar part is almost like a different tune.....A cool resolved vibe.

I would have loved for the piano to carry on into the guitar part for a little bit.
I bet they would sound awesome together!

Great song Dave - All through the piano section I kept wanting more instrumentation but then you dropped into the full production!
Keep them wanting more they say and you did.
I do agree with OsCKilO that it might be nice to carry the keys into the main instruments to blend the different styles together.
Nice job overall!

Great song, i dig the chord progression on the piano!!  I like how it picks up with the drums and guitar ~ catchy beat!   I too, often use some strings to blend parts together...works nice.
