I made this a while ago and as part of "the journey collection" it was supposed to convey a feeling of "Lost", and despair - not so much "down on your luck", - but drifting in space - with nowhere to go.  Everything in this is played by me - the opposing rythym and changes of impetus in the parts are intended to express confusion in the same way the repetitiveness reflects unchanging helplessness.  The bizzare laugh on the guitar I particularly like.

It has been criticised as being out of time - I didn't have the heart to explain that's how it is - it's meant to be like that.  But don't play it if you want to keep a good mood.  A better description has been "razorblade" music.  What do you think!? ;D
Guild Starfire 5, Fender Telecaster, Fender Stratocaster, K Yairi and Walden and a 12 Stagg string acoustic guitar and other music making boxes - including mandolin, bouzouki and 5 string banjo, uke and acoustic bass - a few M-Audio keyboards and a flute - all played and treated with equal love and attention - zoom ut 2 pedal and Logic Pro X

You have described your own music perfectly which is no mean feat. The hopelessness and confusion shone through the piece as you intended. However I am now on vallium and seeking spiritual help.  ;D    I like this a lot ..............Willie

Thanks for the comments guy's.  This was a second choice of song to post today, but after I posted " Free to Roam", I wanted to put the "The journey Collection" into context.  My first choice was called "dangerous skies", but with certain people flying out to Corfu I thought I should refrain 'til he returns.

Back to the song - I played this on some cheap pc speakers and it's sounds awfully bass heavy and boomy - I think this is one for headphones.

Thanks again.

I've been pickling myself in a barrel of misery since childhood, lol. This doesn't sound too depressing to me. I like it a lot. The heavily-treated guitar 'moan' is excellent. There's a good edgy feel throughout, and I like the unorthodox timing. It doesn't sound like the timing is out - it just works very well to maintain a certain kind of tension.

Cheers all for the replies - the journeys collection is not a project - or a story.  It's literally a collection tunes that I had an idea of travelling in one form, or another and beyond that there is little connection between them.

Thanks for the listens and comments. :)

Glad I didn't have anything dangerous around me whilst listening! Just kidding, I felt the vibe. You got a great sound here!

Cheers all - thanks for the kind words.

Jim I never did get round to posting "Dangerous Skies".  Maybe as there are acouple of my tracks up on the front page, I should wait for your return, or maybe retitle it, "Happy Landings".  No it doesn't fit the music somehow.  Is the Norway trip part of your music fest - If so I will try to compose something "heroic" as befits that part of the world?
