Being a pilot without plane I'm in need of a "fix".  Here's a tune relaying my frustration being stuck on the ground......  :(

Again, excuse the lack of singing ability (yes, I know I'm pitching all over the place - just think of it as an "effect".... ::)

I plan to clean up the lyrics and re-sing it but thought I'd post it first for any other suggestions.

Oh, and anyone know what the genre for this would be?  Thanks!

TIME TO FLY AGAIN
-------------------------------------------------
It's time for me to fly again
On wings that are my only friend

I must escape the endless crowds
And find my peace among the clouds
---------------------------------------------------
The things that were important then
All lost and won't be seen again

The time has past that lead our way
Perspective's gone for us today

Reason needs to come and stay
--------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------
It's time again for me to fly away
I can find no reason for me to stay

Everyone has gone and lost their mind
And I can no longer find my rhyme

Don't know what's happened to the time
---------------------------------------------------
Now I'm flying up so high
Just needed all this endless sky

Where sunset shadows start to cast
Bring thoughts of joy that all had past

To fill my soul with peace at last
---------------------------------------------------

Hi Ken I can't fly but I drive and I understand the frustration of having a car in the repair shop for any length of time. You must be going stir crazy not getting off the ground. I like the song, yeah a bit of tidying maybe but it has an honesty that could be lost with tinkering.  The voice sounds fine to me, don't be too hard on yourself on that score. Very pretty guitar sounds - That's a good thing.  The vocal put over the words and sound convincing.  Yep! Maybe you could clean it up - but this isn't bad at all as it stands.

Genre - YOU TALKING TO ME ABOUT GENRE?  Er I ..........  don't understand!
Guild Starfire 5, Fender Telecaster, Fender Stratocaster, K Yairi and Walden and a 12 Stagg string acoustic guitar and other music making boxes - including mandolin, bouzouki and 5 string banjo, uke and acoustic bass - a few M-Audio keyboards and a flute - all played and treated with equal love and attention - zoom ut 2 pedal and Logic Pro X

Who cares about genre. This is just good songwriting, which is the only label that should count. The guitar work is fantastic, and I don't know what you're worried about on the vocal - it all sounds great to me. In terms of production, there are a few things I'd do if I were on the mixing desk...

I'd pan the guitars a bit more left and right to stop things being a bit 'narrow' down the middle. That will leave you with more clean space for the vocal, which means you could push them back ever so slightly in the mix. The song is a dreamy one, so I'd have quite a bit more reverb on the vocal. Maybe even a tiny bit of echo / delay. They are slightly too dry and overpowering to my ears at the moment.

This is a lovely song though. And as always, your guitar playing is stunning.

Ken, this song just rolled along beautifully. I faded into listen mode, and forgot that I was listening to give any kind of constructive comment. Sorry, it turned my mind into putty and I was lost in the music. That's all you get from me today.

I love how this song floats along, it does have the feel of flying. Your guitar work and tone is fantastic as usual. I think your vocals sound good here but I agree with Tim that you should try some more effects on them for this song, I think it would work well for this song because of the dreamy floating melody.
Who cares about genre, a good song is a good song and this is one.
Great work.

Thanks much everyone! - got lots of good ideas to play with for it.

As to genre, I don't care about it either but for putting it on Soundclick, it's required....... :(

You've created a nice "mood" here with lyrics and chords.  Good songwriting.  I reinforce Tim's mixing suggestions.

Well done.
