This song is one of my favorites ever.
The hauntingly beautiful melody of the this tune reverberates in my head.
I am honored to have permission to "produce"this song.

The emotion of this track was inspiring to me.

I took the original and added some subtle orchestration to it.

I tried not to step on it too much.

I only wish i could have had the original track separated-guitar/vox-but it didn't matter-sometimes the best takes are the first ones.

Anyway, the brain worm this song gave me (especially while at work) made me hear a cello, french horn, piano, a solo violin, string section as well as cavernous snare hit

Hope you all enjoy as much as I have.

edit- remix coming soon

Very lovely indeed, but I think you could have stepped on it just a bit more. There's lots of cool stuff you have added but to me it's a little lost. I wouldn't be afraid of bringing some of the orchestral parts up a bit more, especially things like the horn - make use of the stereo image to keep them separate from the vox. I think the piano sits nicely but the other individual instruments could be higher, eg the violin that comes in at about 55 secs. you have that panned right, which works well, but IMO it could be higher in the mix without overpowering the vox. I think this would help you introduce even more light and shade with what you have added. Was there a cavernous snare in there? I couldn't make it out (but I don't hear very well).

Having said that, you have added some lovely touches to what was already another superb Tharek song. How did you do it? All synths? Great job, but try an "extreme mix" would be my advice, hope you don't mind me saying that.....

Cheers,

Nigel

I was so impressed when I first heard the original that I texted Tharek immediately. It's an absolutely outstanding song - one of the finest songcrafters offerings ever in my opinion.

You've made some excellent (and subtle) additions, Ron. I think Tharek is going to be thrilled. It reminds me of the orchestration that worked so well on Nick Drake's songs. A great idea and a great execution! Brilliant!

Michigan has a bright spot after all. The additions were a little too subtle for me as well, They are absolutely fantastic Ron.
