These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

Cool journey. Loved the improvisations and the song overall. Not familiar with the original but i sure dug this. Nice collab guys! Still can't believe you do all this on those MBR's....

Loved this, Geir. Always loved that solo section in "Torture," and the second half is epic.

Nicely done.

By the way, if you haven't picked up the new Zappa Plays Zappa "Return of the Son," it's a jolly-good listen save for one or two songs. Young Dweezil has assembled quite a band, and although I still prefer Zappa Senior, his son is one of the few ways I can see this msuic live.

Peace.

Excellent. I was gonna do WDIHWIP but realized that with a song to write every week all my musical energy is pretty much consumed unless I can do a mad dash quick write or record. And this song deserves the treatment you've given it. I really like it. You did it better than I ever could.

Damn, I never chimed in on this! Hell, none of us took a bow.

Dave, that strat through the beginning was me for sure. I was so overwhelmed by the quality of this, that I thought I stood out in a bad way. Now that I'm months removed from this, and listened to it with fresh ears.... What an amazing collab.

When I youtubed and checked out Zappa on this, I noticed that he opted for a Strat instead of an SG, that's where my authenticity stopped. The harmony guitars I laid were the SG. Have toys will use them right?

Geir was definitely the ring master here. He kept progress going smoothly, he took every track we threw at him and made a masterpiece.

When I recorded the solo, there was no bass, no drums, just Geir's rhythm. I had a hard time finding an anchor to base a lead off of. When I finally heard the bass and drums I was amazed at how it came together.

Geir later sent me the notes to play for harmony guitar, which I think was to introduce me to harmonies and how they can enhance a song.

What a treat to be part of. Thanks Geir, Mark, and James for letting me join you. Now if I an just get somebody to bump Joe's Garage
