Quote from: dasilvasings on July 15, 2010, 04:32:51 AMWhat to say? Clash is one of my favourite bands of all times. I love all their albums, including Sandinista! And I learned a lot of History with their songs, so who says punk music is degenerative?

I haven't covered them yet, because the voice is completely out of my league. I someone wants to collab, I'm your bassist! I'm particularly tempted to do stay free or gates of the west.

Cheers,

Miguel

Good stuff Miguel...I love the Clash too and as a fellow Clash fan I'd love to hear what you think about this cover and collab!

This takes me back, playing along with this as a kid with my mates in various bedrooms and garages.

Nice one guys, it's a keeper!

Now you're talking my language.

Great version of a classic track.
A worthy vocal effort from The Grittster too!!

Miguel - I can hear your bass on London Calling, White Man In Hammersmith and Armagideon Time already ... If only in my head.

ClashFest anyone?

Yes I'd love to have a Clash fest!

Clashfest!

I'll be off from Friday to next Thursday, but then I would love to start this collabs.

Since Gritters' email, I checked the bassline from stay free and I still remember it. I never tried any of the others, but I remember them very well and I can pick them easily.

I'm new in collabs, so please be gentle! Please lets keep at least the song structure and key...

We had our PunkFest in April. So I don't think we'll be having an official ClashFest anytime soon. However, if a few of you want to post some Clash covers, I'd be happy to add them to the PunkFest jukebox. If I miss your post, send me a PM to remind me. I'll add "Tommy Gun" now.

I'd love a Clashfest.  They were the first proper band I ever saw in January 1980 at Blackburn King Georges Hall.  We were right up at the front leaning on the stage!  I've been trying to think of a song to cover for a while but struggling to do a suitable drum backing on the BR600.   Started my first band in 79 and we used to do mainly Clash covers.

I would have loved to have seen them. they were a great band and had some really good productions on their music too. Live the energy was top notch.
I've seen The Pistols twice. Some of The Stranglers and part of The Ruts. Ian Dury & The Blockheads were great back in 1996 I think it was. Now they would be good to cover. Very challenging though.
