This song is formerly known as "It Begins Here". I've been working on it for the past week. Gabriel sent me this drum track which helped, it inspired me, but I couldn't add any fills or changes. Once I get the drums straightened out this song should be close to done... But who knows with me. I'll probably add some more guitar parts. It need vocals and I have a few ideas. I want it to be a powerful, sweeping song of hope.

I respect the opinions of the musicians who are a part of this community so I just wanted to see what everyone thinks of it thus far.

hi rik,

heard this song this morning and threw it onto my microbr and did a very quick vocal. its about not worrying about the unimportant things that get in the way of life but remembering all the good things we have and that we always have someone be it a friend or lover or whatever to support us through difficult times.

inspired by the death of my pc, which i imagined would have been really upsetting for me but i took it in my stride as in the big scheme of things its relatively unimportant.

song now called we can make it together , hope its too your liking, its a very rough mix. and by the way its first bit of music ive done in over a week, not through writers block or anything, have just enjoyed being a listener for a change.

Great music Erik, and fab vocals James, with lyrics I can relate too!!

One thing James, .. you have a more powerful voice than you think!! You should turn the input sensitivity down a notch or three :D The vox are a little distorted.

Still a GREAT song !!

Good, good, chimey goodness....
Yea, the vocals are distorting a bit, but they sound quite analog-ey, so that's great!! It's not that horrid digital distortion...

This is wonderful. A perfect marriage of talent. Guitar-wise, it's a multi-layered indie delight. Indierik never puts a foot wrong with his guitar tracks - they always appeal to me straight from the off. The peaking on the vox can be dealt with later, but the base vocal and sentiment are what count: they're both fab. And as the lyrics suggest, this is a very uplifting song that builds beautifully.

This is a lovely piece of music. I think this is a piece I shall return to again and again and still find something new in there.   Willie

This is great James! I think the vocal melody works really well with the music. Yes, the recording level does sound like it's set a bit high, but nothing that can't be fixed. My only slight criticism would be a little more lyrical variation, it gets a little repetitive at times. Other than that I think it's fantastic! I am especially fond of the beginning, the first few phrases. Stunning! Can't wait to hear it rerecorded. I actually might change the guitar effects in the middle/transition part and then re-post it. Perhaps you should wait until I do that.

Once again you amaze me. With the addition of your vox I think we have a pretty good song here. Sounds a bit like Guided By Voices...which for me is a very good thing.
