High Rise (By Stoke Newington School)

I took a day off work today to help Owen with a Literacy and self identity project in his school. Playing Guitar...


Early start.... After a Late Night Songwriting...Lol!!!  But Well Worth it!!!
I played with Highly skilled musicians today...  A studio session..
Real drums and Brass....

An amazing experience...






We played ten tracks which were created to accompany poetry written by pupils at Stoke Newington School. Random Improvisations...

I am Reserved in imparting this information, as it could cause slight  embarrassment to the pupils involved..... (But totally misplaced due to the High Level of competency !!!!)





The students were selected for participation were Supposed to be underachieving in the subject of "English Literature/Language(GCSE ENGLISH)"

But after what I was privileged to see, I am sure that this must have been INCORRECT!!

They are Literary geniuses!!!!!

Lyrics

I am from the depths of the shadow
Camping in the high-rise.
Waiting for my pray.
I am from the peoples mouths, Screaming in pain.
And I am from the field that pitches....
I am Like a hunter
Hunting Words For Information.
I am from the bad and silence of the Bullet...
I am from the picture that hangs from my wall...
I am from the base Camp.
High rise...
Screaming to death...
I am from the pages of information..
I am from the way the pages swing.....
I am from the monthly collector's magazine....
I am from the pictures that bind the ball for one more...

I am a champion,
That runs for the mat that slaps....
When I land on it,
I am the tea bag that stays in the cup for the champion's league.....
I am the toothless smile that hangs on my wall....
I am the past....
Now one flash....
I am the future...

I am the "Thing" beneath my wing.......

This Young Man is an amazing talent!

His Poem was amazing...

This is destined to become a Songcrafters classic.   Everything here is just perfect.  I'm three times that kid's age and I could never hope to write something as good as that.
Thanks for uploading this.  One of the best things I've heard here or anywhere else.

Truly fascinating and inspiring and amazing.  A big thank you Tharek for posting this.  That young man has quite the way with words, what an amazing poem.  He could be teaching us old song-writing wanna-be dudes a thing or two about writing lyrics.  He should learn to play guitar so that he can set his poems to his own music and become a seriously good singer/songwriter.  Thanks for the great listen.
