ive been using cheap earbud headphones, when recording vocals i get overspill from earbuds, so was thinking of buying padded headphones could someone recommend a decent pair, but not too expensive.

Been using a Sony MDR7506 for over 10 years and bought a second pair just a few years ago. I love these headphones.
Note: Don't know if this is true with the other cans mentioned but I do know that with the 7506's I can put a 1/8" stereo splitter at the output of the M-BR and drive two pairs of cans at the same time without using a headphone mixer.

got a pair of sennheiser hd201 's for £20, seem to do the trick in that there is no overspill and they sound sweet.

Been having exactly the same problem with sound bleed. I know what I want for Christmas now though!

I have been using a cheepo $2 pair of headphones that I bought on a jet blue flight. The sound quality sucks, but I don't have any bleed through. When I am mixing down I use my computer speakers.

I have an old pair of Sony MDR V500's. No overspill and they are great for use during recording but I cannot mix  with them. All I get is mush.

I think that I need some monitor speakers and a studio and if I just emptied the garage out......
