Thanks for kind comments fellow musicians !!

I know a magician never reveals his tricks, but I was wondering how you did this...
Are you just naturally tuned? Did you made an instrumental backing track to help you tune?
Did you thought on the harmony of the different voices before recording it, or it just came naturally (e.g. from hearing the background guitar chords)?

I must admit I cheated big time on this ... well at least to get started. I put the original on the recorder and sang along the main melody and the bom-bom-bom to get the basic melody and the rhythm right.

From there I improvised the harmony voices from memory and from how I guessed some of Zappas many singers would have done the various parts.

I have done acapella versions without cheating earlier tho..... one of the 4(!) versions of Blackbird I've posted here is an acappella one.

A couple of weeks ago I listened to your songlist. Now that you mentioned an acappella blackbird I went back again... to notice there is a scroll on the right side of the screen..... Now I have homework for the next days.
